TAKING HOUSE PHOTOS

In order to provide us with the best possible images to work with, it is important to follow a few simple rules to assure the images are useable and do not require extensive editing. Failure to upload good quality images can result in delaying your order or requiring significant rework to make the photos useable.

What to take Your Photos with

Use your smart phone to take your photos. Shoot in landscape orientation (phone on its side). Make sure your phone's photo settings are set to the best resolution possible.

High megapixel DSLRs create nice images but the files are too large to transfer. DO NOT USE.

When to Take Your Photos

Dark shadows cast on a sunny day are not your friend. The best time of day to take your photos are within a few hours after sunrise or a couple of hours before sunset.

Cloudy, overcast, even rainy weather are also good times to take photos of the home.

How to Take Your Photos

Take about 5-7 photos of the exterior of the house. Photos should include:

  • Different angles of the front of the house.

  • Try to take photos with garage doors down and cars out of the driveway.

  • If possible, remove any realtor or other signage out of view before shooting.

  • If possible, frame your shot to exclude anything that would detract from the home's appearance (some of these can be removed if needed for an additional charge).

  • Make sure all photos are in focus.
